About
Michael is a dispute resolution lawyer and litigator – “in the trenches” with his clients.
Essentially, that means Michael helps clients find solutions to challenges that they inevitably face from time to time – sometimes through Court action, but also by negotiation or “alternative dispute resolution” such as mediation or expert determination.
The clients that Michael assists range from businesses, to insolvency practitioners and individuals.
The type of circumstances that Michael helps resolve are varied – but include: unpaid debts; contractual and general property disputes; intellectual property disputes; director, shareholder and partnership disputes; landlord and tenant disputes; insolvency related disputes and claims; and financial and property aspects of the breakdown of personal relationships, such as marriage and co-habitation.
Michael’s experience of helping clients deal with problem situations also make Michael a key advisor to businesses and individuals in terms of heading off or protecting our clients against disputes before they happen – for instance, with a carefully drafted pre-nuptial or cohabitation agreement, or by lodging Caveats with relevant Courts.
Outside of work, Michael is married and a dad of two. That (together with DIY renovation) pretty well accounts for Michael’s time, but Michael also enjoys sport (particularly these days golf), good food and drink and sharing the latter two with friends and family.
